Keynote speakers for Florida and California Commencements announced

Cincinnati, OH – Union Institute & University graduates will hear from prominent speakers at Union’s 2015 Florida and Sacramento commencement ceremonies.

La June Montgomery Tabron, president and CEO of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation will deliver the keynote address at the June 7, 2015 Florida Commencement Ceremony.

As a champion for vulnerable children and for creating the conditions necessary for them to thrive, Tabron leads the Kellogg Foundation and its work to ensure the optimal development of young children from birth to age 8, heal the profound racial inequities in communities and cultivate community leaders and community-led solutions that support educated kids, healthy kids and economically secure families.

Ms. Tabron will also receive the university’s highest honor, the Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters in recognition of her tireless work and inspirational leadership in advocacy for children and marginalized communities throughout the world.

Barbara Gellman-Danley HLC

Dr. Barbara Gellman-Danley, President, Higher Learning Commission will address the 2015 Sacramento graduates on August 23.

As president of the Higher Learning Commission, she leads the nonprofit regional accrediting agency that accredits more than 1,000 colleges and universities in 19 states stretching from West Virginia to Arizona.

“Union Institute & University is honored to welcome these two national leaders to our commencement ceremonies,” said Dr. Roger H. Sublett, president of Union Institute & University. “I know our graduates will be inspired not only by these two accomplished women’s careers, but also by their message of perseverance and inspiration.”

The Florida commencement ceremony will take place on June 7 at the Hilton Miami Airport located at 5101 Blue Lagoon Drive, Miami Florida at 11:00 a.m.

The Sacramento commencement ceremony will be held on August 23 at the Sacramento Community Center Theater at the Sacramento Convention Center at 11:00 a.m.
